Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
In response to the increasing number of fatalities that have occurred in the oil and natural gas industry, OSHA and National STEPS advised companies involved in the energy sector to participate in a voluntary stand down at their work sites. A stand down is a voluntary commitment to conduct safety training and inspections at work sites. Boulder ES participated in OSHA’s National Voluntary Stand Down as an attempt to help raise awareness of health and safety issues in the oil and natural gas industry. The first phase of the stand down meetings consisted of Boulder ES spending an hour of sharing the importance of safety information that was provided by OSHA at www.oshastanddown.org. The second phase of the stand down will consist of participating in a live webcast that communicates safety policies and goals to front-line workers in the industry. Boulder ES is committed to putting safety first because people matter.
